Somewhere Else

You know how it is with the traveling type. We're never really anywhere for long.

Numerals

I. Let it be known that at least one of you must go to the Guster concert tonight (Sunday, the 23 of September at the Crystal Ballroom [1332 W. Burnside] at 7pm) and I expect to see pictures. If this does not happen, not only will I cry with disappointment over the caliber of people I've chosen as friends, but if you think I don't post often enough now...just you wait.

II. Things have been awesome. I love my classes despite whatever abysmal grades I may or may not be earning in them. Did you know Fungi are genetically closer to animals than they are to plants? You do now. I stay busy, but I'm pleased with most of what I'm doing. I've also gotten very good at mounting plants. Still slow, but they look very nice when they're dry.

III. No, seriously. Horribly disappointed. I've been strangely emotional lately, too, so I will most definitely cry.

IV. I worked at the Insect Festival at the State Botanical Gardens today. It's amazing how sometimes the only credential you need to be an expert on something is a location on the other side of the table. Also, I ate meal worm cookies, saw a roach race, held a millipede and had a blast. The only way it could have improved is if I hadn't had to be there so early.

V. I'm now in the process of learning how to swim. That, of course, means I've taken one lesson. But still, I'm better than I was before, as even .02 is better than 0. I think we're going again later today. That's actually why I'm currently still awake.

VI. We watched a movie on the ceiling today. It was as much fun as I thought it would be, except that my back was bothering me a little. The movie was good except that I'm not sure exactly what the meaning was supposed to be. But I'm wondering if that is the meaning. That may be a cop-out, though.

VII. I should be applying to grad schools right now, but the more I think about it, the less I'm sure of where I want to go and what for. How was the GRE, Ireland? Any advice? I'm taking it on the 4th. Or the 5th. One of those.

VIII. Whoever sent me and the Mandrew the coming out packets, thanks. I've actually always wanted one of those stickers. I didn't need fifteen of them, but if they're free, they're free. I'm sorry that I don't have anything to come out with.

IX. Guster. They're amazing. Watch the drummer. Also, they tend to hang around and meet people after the show, so you should swing by and say hello.

If it's all ages, I will try to go. I don't know about the pictures, though. Disposable cameras are expensive.

I do likes me some Guester, though. It would be a pretty good time.

    I'll look online now.

Thank you for updating. What have you been emotional about?

it wasn't bad. it was exhausting, but the nice thing was that you do it alone and at your own pace, so unlike the sat you don't have to sit for 10 minutes at the end of each section. i did ok (they tell you your score when you finish) but was glad i studied.

    you'll do great!

where are you applying for grad school?

Guster! Sad. :( I think you might have to never speak to us again then. I didn't go. But please speak to me again. Please?

    Thanks for the link!

She actually just released her latest album through Starbucks, which pisses me off more than I can say.
